Our client is seeking a compassionate and experienced Medical Doctor (General Practitioner) to manage their on-site employee health clinic in Soweto. This integral role involves providing primary healthcare services, managing occupational health issues, and promoting the overall well-being of the workforce. You will conduct general consultations, diagnose and treat common illnesses, provide preventive care, and coordinate referrals to specialists when necessary. The ideal candidate is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care and has a strong understanding of occupational health principles within a corporate setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct general medical consultations for employees, diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions.
- Provide primary healthcare services, including health screenings, vaccinations, and chronic disease management.
- Manage occupational health issues, including work-related injuries and illnesses, and advise on workplace safety.
- Develop and implement health promotion programs and wellness initiatives for employees.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records in accordance with professional standards.
- Liaise with external healthcare providers and specialists for referrals and follow-up care.
Requirements
- MBChB or equivalent medical degree.
- Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a General Practitioner.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical practice, preferably with experience in primary care or occupational health.
- Strong diagnostic skills and a comprehensive understanding of medical conditions and treatments.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient management skills.
- Knowledge of occupational health principles and relevant legislation is advantageous.
