About the Role

Our client, a reputable healthcare provider serving the Soweto, Gauteng community, is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) to join their dedicated medical team. This critical role focuses on providing comprehensive healthcare services to infants, children, and adolescents. The PNP will conduct physical examinations, diagnose and treat common childhood illnesses, manage chronic conditions, and provide health education to families. This position is based within our Soweto clinic, offering direct patient care and collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional clinical skills, a deep understanding of pediatric development and health issues, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. You will be a vital part of ensuring the health and well‑being of children in the Gauteng region.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including physical examinations and developmental screenings for pediatric patients.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pediatric illnesses and injuries.
• Prescribe medications, therapies, and diagnostic tests in accordance with established protocols.
• Provide counseling and education to patients and their families on health promotion, disease prevention, and treatment plans.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, specialists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Advocate for the needs of pediatric patients and their families within the healthcare system.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.
• Perform minor procedures as needed and within scope of practice.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) program from an accredited institution.
• Current RN license and PNP certification in good standing.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least 2 years in a pediatric setting.
• Proven experience as a PNP in a primary care or specialty clinic setting.
• In-depth knowledge of pediatric physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and developmental stages.
• Excellent diagnostic, clinical reasoning, and treatment planning skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and counseling abilities.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• A commitment to providing culturally competent and family-centered care.
