ð¥ THE ROLE
As the
Lead Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Managing and developing a team of 5 finance professionals
- Taking ownership of the full accounting and reporting function
- Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts and financial reporting
- Managing international entities and gaining exposure to a multinational environment
- Overseeing VAT, statutory compliance and tax-related requirements
- Managing and forecasting cash flow and working capital
- Reviewing trial balances, reconciliations and general ledger activities
- Driving accurate and timely month-end and year-end reporting
- Providing strong technical accounting input and guidance
- Working closely with senior management and key stakeholders
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
- Monitoring project/client profitability, billing and recoveries
- Ensuring finance remains aligned with the operational side of the consulting business
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and reporting
- Getting involved in ad-hoc projects and broader business initiatives
ð§ WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for someone who is
technically strong but commercially minded someone who wants to understand the business behind the numbers.
Requirements:- CA(SA) qualification preferred
- Candidates who completed SAICA, CIMA or SAIPA articles will be considered
- 3+ years post-articles experience
- 12 years' experience managing people
- Experience managing or working with international entities
- Strong technical accounting and reporting experience
- Solid VAT and statutory knowledge
- Strong cash-flow management and forecasting experience
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Consulting / professional services / engineering consulting experience essential
- Experience in a business that sells time / professional services will be highly advantageous
- Multimodule and Moconime experience advantageous
- Delta experience advantageous
