Senior Financial Analyst | Government Sector

Specialisation:Bankable Business Cases & Financial Modelling

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst / Financial Modelling Specialist with proven expertise in developing bankable business cases for government and public sector projects.

The successful candidate must be able to develop robust financial models, assess project feasibility and prepare investment-ready business cases that meet government, Treasury and funding institution requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Proven experience developing bankable business cases for government, public sector or infrastructure projects.
• Advanced financial modelling skills, including cash flow forecasting, NPV, IRR, ROI and sensitivity analysis.
• Strong understanding of project feasibility, funding structures, financial viability and investment appraisal.
• Experience preparing business cases for National Treasury, development finance institutions (DFIs) or other funding bodies.
• Knowledge of South African public sector financial frameworks, including PFMA, Treasury Regulations and relevant PPP requirements.
• Ability to develop financial scenarios, assess risks and provide commercially sound recommendations.
• Excellent analytical, financial reporting and stakeholder presentation skills.
• Relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Investment Management. CA(SA), CFA or equivalent qualification advantageous.

Experience:

• Minimum 8–10 years' relevant experience, with demonstrated success in developing government-sector business cases.

Important:

Candidates must demonstrate previous experience developing bankable business cases that have successfully supported funding approvals or investment decisions.
