Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee short-term and long-term mine plans, ensuring alignment with production targets and economic objectives.
- Manage and optimize daily mining operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling activities.
- Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new mining projects or expansions.
- Implement and monitor adherence to stringent health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Utilize mine planning software to generate schedules, assess equipment needs, and optimize resource allocation.
- Supervise and mentor junior mining engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in mining engineering, with a strong focus on open-pit or underground operations management.
- Proficiency in mine planning and design software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac).
- Solid understanding of mine ventilation, ground control, and blasting techniques.
- Experience with operational budgeting, cost control, and production reporting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
